Ed Wingate

Ed Wingate is a Tesla coil builder and host of the long-running, Teslathon coined "Rochester Area Tesla Coil Builders" or "RATCB."

Ed is an artisan machinist by trade and worked with Titanium a lot of his career, including parts built for NASA's Space Shuttle. Ed was a talented water skier in his youth and loves remote-controlled model airplanes.

For decades, Ed has maintained probably the world's best Tesla magnifier (a more complicated Tesla coil system using three coils instead of the traditional primary/secondary arrangement). Ed has since evolved the hobby into solid-state Tesla coils and has built one as powerful as the magnifier.
